Industrial Ethernet

Industrial Ethernet (IE) refers to the use of standard Ethernet protocols with rugged connectors and extended temperature switches in an industrial environment, for automation or process control. Components used in plant process areas must be designed to work in harsh environments of temperature extremes, humidity, and vibration that exceed the ranges for information technology equipment intended for installation in controlled environments.

Telemetry Radio System

Tanker Telemetry System

As an extra safety device all Navion’s shuttle tankers have a discharge telemetry system installed.
Prior to giving permit to start crude export from the FPSO, this monitoring circuit controls that all valves and couplers onboard the tanker are in correction position, and that the mooring system and hose connections are properly secured.
Upon completion of ‘Permit to Pump’ signal from the shuttle tanker it will not be possible for the FPSO / FSU to start their crude export pump.
If any ‘Green line ‘status is altered for any reason during loading, the telemetry system will immediately initiate a shutdown of the crude export and close the tanker inlet valve.

UHF / VHF Trunk Radio Communication Systems

uhf1

A two-way radio is a radio that can both transmit and receive (a transceiver), unlike a broadcast receiver which only receives content. A two-way radio (transceiver) allows the operator to have a conversation with other similar radios operating on the same radio frequency (channel). Two-way radios are available in mobile, stationary base and hand-held portable configurations. Hand-held radios are often called walkie-talkies, handie-talkies, or just hand-helds.

Two-way radio systems usually operate in a half-duplex mode; that is, the operator can talk, or he can listen, but not at the same time. A push-to-talk or Press To Transmit button activates the transmitter; when it is released the receiver is active.

Public Address & General Alarms Systems (PAGA)

Public Address and General Alarms Systems (PAGA) are high integrity plant safety systems interfaced with fire & gas systems that are needed to alert personnel within the plant in the event of emergency situations by means of either a speech or alarm broadcast with visual warning beacons in high ambient noise areas. This applies to both hazardous and non-hazardous areas of the plant accordingly.

Binconet Marine Solutions designs, builds and engineers the PAGA systems to the clients project specification requirement. In addition to this as part of the design scope Binconet Marine Solutions performs an acoustic analysis and sound coverage study using state of the art acoustic modeling software to ensure that adequate sound level coverage and intelligibility is achieved within the plant facilities where personnel frequent.

PABX / Telephone system

pabx01

Private automatic branch exchange (PABX) is a technology used by call centers and other large organizations that allows a single access number to provide several lines to outside callers while providing a range of external lines to internal callers or staff. PABX performs all the switching necessary for making internal calls between extensions within the organizations. It also allows provides a connection between extensions and external phone lines.

PABX is the improved version of the private branch exchange (PBX).

VSAT Systems / Microwave Systems

VSAT Systems

vast3

VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) is a satellite communications system. A VSAT end user needs a box that interfaces between the user’s computer and an outside antenna with a transceiver. The transceiver receives or sends a signal to a satellite transponder in the sky. The satellite sends and receives signals from an earth station computer that acts as a hub for the system. Each end user is interconnected with the hub station via the satellite in a star topology. For one end user to communicate with another, each transmission has to first go to the hub station which retransmits it via the satellite to the other end user’s VSAT. VSAT handles data, voice, and video signals.

Binconet Marine Solutions can provide more than just a VSAT system – we can provide a full range of application solutions that add value to your VSAT system. With a vast systems integration capability, Binconet Marine Solutions can design and provide an integrated solution for VoIP networking, digital signage, video streaming and content distribution.

Microwave Systems

Microwave communication is the transmission of signals via radio waves using a series of radio wavelengths measured in small numbers of centimeters. A Microwave Radio System is a system of equipment used in broadcasting and telecommunications transmissions. The microwave system includes radios located high atop microwave towers, which are used for the transmission of microwave communications using line of sight microwave radio technology.
Microwaves are widely used for point-to-point communications because their small wavelength allows conveniently-sized antennas to direct them in narrow beams, which can be pointed directly at the receiving antenna. This allows nearby microwave equipment to use the same frequencies without interfering with each other, as lower frequency radio waves do.
